One of my concerns of going through a debt restructuring plan was the impact on my credit.

4 Pillars offers a thorough education and credit rebuilding program but I was still unsure how effective it would be at building my credit back.

4 Pillars reviewed my credit report and created a plan to correct errors and improve my credit score. As part of the process the first product they recommended was landlord credit bureau so rent would be reported positively on my credit report. I noticed in my tenant’s rental application that her credit was poor. Aside from that, she was a good fit for my property and I offered her the unit.

When I learned about LCB and their rent reporting feature I immediately thought of my tenant and how this could help her. We signed up and within the first couple of months she saw an improvement to her credit score! She has been encouraged by this and more motivated than ever to continue making her on-time rent payments.

I own a property management company and we just became a premium member...effective May 1. In my opinion, the benefits are well worth the fees, especially during times like these! Not only can we register delinquent or non-paid rent against our tenant's credit index reports, we can also collect outstanding rent without an RTB order.

I also love that we can reward tenants who pay rent in full and on time by increasing their credit rating! We are just about to announce to our clients that we are registered with the LCB and we can't wait! An added bonus to the LCB is the delinquent tenant directory which - especially when we have to work with the tenant friendly RTB - will be very useful when auditing potential tenants. The more landlords who are members, the more delinquent tenants will be registered - which will benefit us all!

I registered with Landlord Credit Bureau a few months ago after struggling with a tenant who didn’t pay the rent for months and damaged the property. The rent owed was registered on the tenant’s credit report through LCB helped me get their rent paid even after they had moved out.

Responsible behaviour on paying the rent has no difference from paying a credit card or a mortgage. But the landlords didn’t have the tool to report on the tenants’ credit until LCB started the service.

It is not only a powerful tool for the landlords to defend their legal rights, but also help the good tenants improve their credit by adding another trade line on their credit report. We would suggest all landlords should register the service with LCB.
